Sometimes I need to update the php files under includes directory. When I put these updated files into the child theme’s folder, they don’t work. But changing the original files in Newspaper directory makes the changes to be lost after updating the theme.

Hello,
The child theme work at this moment only with CSS.
On all updates we want to publish a patch with changed files and check if we update the files modified by you.
