Hi, could someone please give me any hints with implementing Co-Authors Plugin into a theme, since I am not too savvy. I also need more than one authors to show up in posts (I see that there is a great deal of people looking for that function, so it might be good to implement in further development).
So, please, I have a few questions, and am writing based on 2 posts I have found here:

1. Do I need to put the code into activated child theme? I mean, if I modify some templates, they will probably get re-modified after theme updates. Or am I wrong?
2. If I need to put modified files into child theme, where should they be stored? In the root directory of a child theme or in the same sub-directory? Will they be automatically read instead of those un-modified files in the theme folder?
3. This goes to anyone who has successfully implemented the Co-Authors Plugin – could you help any further with advice for us who are struggling with it, it would be very much appreciated 🙂 @soundstrat @kpwebteam

Hi,
You just need to follow the suggestions from those topics and it should work properly. For example the code provided by Alin. You can use that to replace the default author code in the post template file you want

I have tried it using post template style 1 and a child theme

The modification to the post template files can be made in the child theme. The template file that you want to modify simply needs to be copied in the child theme folder (other files may need a similar folder structure as in the main theme).
