Fatal error

I installed the newspaper theme today, and when I tried to regenerate broken images many of them were not able to be found. Now the only thing the website displays is a fatal error message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function set_defaults() on a non-object in /homepages/1/d488799202/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/app/model/class-ai1ec-settings.php on line 439

Probably best to deactivate that plugin while doing image regeneration. Neither the regeneration plugin or the calendar plugin you’re using are part of the theme. You cannot regenerate images not found on your site, only those which are part of a post, or set as a featured image- meaning the theme doesn’t break your photos. Some regeneration plugins will create thumbs from first image in post, some not.

I had deactivated the plugins. But now the website is unresponsive and the only thing that displays period is that error message.

Hm. Not sure how your site can be calling that plugin if it’s not active, unless you have pages with a widget or hard-coded element – which have some kind of call to the plugin which should be switched off when the plugin is off.

Likely best to reset your plugin folder

1.Via FTP or your host’s file manager, navigate to the wp-contents folder (directory)
2.Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename the folder “plugins” to “plugins.hold”
3. Login to your WordPress administration menus (/wp-admin)
4. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename “plugins.hold” back to “plugins”

Thank you! Now the site is actually responsive. But I am having the previous issue where images that are featured pics attached to posts are not regenerating. I’m getting this message when I try to regenerate:

“01415470” (ID 94996) failed to resize. The error message was: The originally uploaded image file cannot be found at /homepages/1/d488799202/htdocs/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/01415470.jpg

I don’t am not sure of the homepages directory. I’ve never seen it before.

Hi,

Please check if the image is actually there: /wp-content/uploads/2014/05/01415470.jpg
Also try to regenerate thumbnails with all plugins disabled.
Please let me know if anything changes.

Thanks

I was able to recover the missing images, but the homepage is displaying images that don’t fill the frame.

For example: The smaller images to the right of the Big Slider are not filling the whole box. I’ve checked the size of the pictures and they should be large enough.

Hi,

For that you will need to regenerate thumbnails, that will create the thumbnails needed to fill that container.
That should solve your problem.
Please send me your site URL so I can check this if you can manages to resolve this.

Thanks
