Them settings are lost when moving to a different host

Hello,

I’m trying to move my website from localhost to online but all theme settings are lost if I replace ‘localhost’ with the hostname from DB dump file and import the dump file back to DB.
It seems the theme also gets inactivated as I’m seeing the ‘Active theme’ tab when I go to the Newspaper admin page.
Please let me know why the settings are being lost and what I could do to keep the settings after replacing the hostname.

Thank you,
Andy

Best way to move stuff is using the DUPLICATOR plugin. This allows you to change the web address in all files and WP settings/transients.

Theme doesn’t manage dbase stuff when moving sites; that is not part of what the theme does.

( I don’t work here. )

Everything including the Newspaper theme settings is duplicated/migrated properly.
I was just trying to update all URLs that have hostname (localhost) in the body of all posts to have the right hostname.
Everything is good and all the URLs now have the right hostname once I searched and replaced the hostname and imported back to DB but the Newspaper theme settings I have changed and saved are lost.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

The theme has a feature that would allow you to export all the settings made in the theme panel, then import them at the new location
https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
It may require to activate the theme at the new location as well. There should be no problem in this regard.

Thanks
