Fav icon not working

Hi,

I resized my logo to be 16 x 16 pixels using Gimpy and uploaded. This worked. However, when I amended my Favicon and re-uploaded, it no longer worked. I’m also unable to get the previous favicon image to work.

So now I am left with an old favicon image that was created using a different WP theme.

How can I can get my favicon image to work?

It is a 16 x 16 pixel image. It should work. I’ve flushed my WP cache and browser, but to no avail.

I also tried with your image and that didn’t work either.

The favicon that’s showing isn’t even a favicon image (and I haven’t uploaded it into your theme). https://onemanandhisshed.com/wp-admin/upload.php?item=354

This image is 200 x 200 pixels. So I’m confused as to why it’s showing up at all.

Any light you can shed on this issue will be very gratefully received.

Also note you can generally not add favicon to panel and simply add the properly composed favicon graphic and optional images for Apple iOS versions to your public root

yoursite.uuu/favicon.ico
yoursite.uuu/favicon.png

and *all* web browsers of past decade will look for one there if not explicitly spelled out in the meta data.

It’s a quick way to get your favicon ‘working’ then mess with where to put it 😉

I am unable to insert the favicon image that I created. I am using the uploaded as advised, but it seems to be picking up another image entirely.
