Is there a way to just get a simple looking quote? I like the pull-quotes and box-quotes — but the default quotes don’t look right to me.

in your editor you should have an option to select tagdiv shortcodes

Hello,
You can edit your style.css and this is the style for default quote, you can change it like you want, if you want a small font, or other modification. http://screencast.com/t/ipCYu2p3
