I have included custom code in some blocks to modify the title font size, but at the same time that change the title, also change the category label in the module. How can I make the size of the category label remain in its default size?

If you would like to change the font properties just for the article title only for a particular block, you can use a custom class just like I believe you are doing now.
The code should look like this

It will affect only the article title, and the excerpt for the blocks that have the custom class added.

Sorry. Maybe I did not express myself well. The problem I am having is that by modifying the size of the title with a specific class will also modify the size of the category tag. And I want the category tag to be kept with the default size. See the atached pictyure

The example code I provided will not modify the category font properties. That is happening because you are changing all the links fonts for the block with the custom class

Remove that part of the code and only the article titles will be affected. At the moment the code you are using will modify all the links for all the elements inside that block.
