testing demo on my site

I downloaded the lifestyle demo and am testing on my site. it seems really slow in loading the pictures and will say connecting in the bottom of the browser for about 5 or 6 seconds. I have disabled all plugins with no change in slowness. pindgom load times sometimes 60 secs. gtmetrix just times out.

Surely this is not a problem of the theme. Try switching to another WordPress theme (like simple Twenty Twelve) and test again.
