I’m encountering something very unusual on the site – I’m running a multisite setup (latest WP and Theme version) where each region gets its own subsite.
When I was attempting to publish a post in Thai (or Chinese), I noticed that having non-latin characters in the title will turn the entire site into gibberish (screenshot here: http://prntscr.com/h19x40). Having non-latin characters will appear normally if the title works fine however (screenshot here: http://prntscr.com/h19swu)
Disabling the theme will display all characters properly (screenshot here: http://prntscr.com/h19wmh)
After several tests, I discovered that this behaviour does not appear on our first 2 subsites (non-latin characters works fine), but will happen from the 3rd subsite onwards.
Do you have any idea what is going on here, and what we can do to have it fixed?

It could be font related, maybe the font used cannot interpret the language characters. For me when I enter Thai text, it is displayed like this (default theme fonts)

Maybe try loading some language specific fonts and make some tests, also enable the subset for specific language

Thanks for the prompt reply. However, I really doubt it’s font settings related, as I’ve previously mentioned:
1. Title and content displays properly on first two subsites (we’re using a Multisite setup)

But just to test, I’ve tried downloading and using Kanit, but the same problem persists.

Hi,
I have tested this as shown with the theme, in a test post. There is no problem displaying content in the languages you mention, using default settings and fonts. It could be the database used by the theme. Maybe you find a solution in these topics
