Request: optimize theme images

Hi, folks
for the next update to theme can you properly compress/optimize/smush/crunch the default images used by theme such as the header/shadows ? These consistently come up in PageSpeed Insights as bloated.

e.g.,
Losslessly compressing /images/header/bg-shadow-top.png could save 854B (90% reduction).
Losslessly compressing /images/header/bg-shadow.png could save 843B (87% reduction).

Indeed! Currently using EWWW to ensure themes folder is periodically optimized and it’s gotten rid of the PageSpeed notifications, but it would be great if the images came pre-optimized.

You won’t be seeing much help (aka “free tech support”) from me for awhile again, due to the window of “working on one thing with lots of hurry up and wait” and now back to the “must concentrate 100%” stuff.

I will be popping in on any pagespeed stuff since I suffer that everyday in some form or another.
