[Urgent] Bootstrap conflicting with the theme header?

Hi

I am currently working on a plugin for social sharing. I have finished working on it and uploaded it to my server from my localhost. After that I noticed that the header ad and the top widget section got messed up.

I am using Bootstrap 3.2.0 and Font Awesome on the plugin. I can’t figure out why is it showing like that.

P.S: It worked fine with all the other themes.

tagDiv, please take a look. You can download the plugin from here.

Please help.

The theme uses custom version of bootstrap 3x, so you’re likely using a conflicting class, or reloading bootstrap when already being loaded by theme?

Hi,

I haven’t used any classes other than the “btn” classes of bootstrap. It would be great if you could take a look by installing the plugin on your localhost or other site..please?

Thanks!

I just removed Bootstrap from the plugin and the social icons got messed up.

Is there anyway I can change the classes on the header.php but make it look the same?

Sorry, I don’t have any free time to help with plugin development. I’m just now starting to work on something requiring full attention the next month, so I won’t be helping out here anymore, except to report something interesting (as I did the other day in PageSpeed sticky), or to poke the team about a bug I ran into.

I’d likely start by checking the btn classes already in use by the theme in the main style.css and related css files/less files.

Or, make new classes like btn-mehedi.

@Christopher Just to let you know that I have fixed the issue but still messes up the mobile site. So, I moved the plugin from Bootstrap to PurceCSS and it works fine.

Groovy. Funnily enough I had planned to make a plugin for social media sharing icons, since we did that for our main business site (not running on WP, but in house CMS we had built in 2005/7; but allows some of the same kind of hooks and drop-ins, but is running shtml vs php). Now, no time, sadly. 🙂
