Home page is stuck on older theme.

Hey,

I just recently installed the theme, set up the “News Magazine” demo, and changed a couple of color settings.

After a while, I opened a new incognito windows and went on my website. Basically, the homepage is stuck showing the crappy old “twenty fourteen” theme page that I had randomly put together last night.

This only happens if I set the homepage as “show static page”. If I set it to “show latest posts”, I’m able to view the proper page with the Newspaper theme on it. This hapens even if I select the ‘default Coming Soon page’ on WP settings: the same crappy page keeps showing up.

This is driving me nuts as I’ve deleted each and every possible page that could have been created last night with that old theme, and replaced it with a fresh, new one that I only edited using this very theme, but no matter what I do, if I set the homepage as “show static page”, this crappy thing shows up whenever I try to access the website from outside of the WP control panel.

Please help.

Thanks.

UPDATE:

If I set my addresses on WP general settings as ‘http’ instead of ‘https’, the right page is loaded. But, this is the ‘unsecure’ version of my website. How can I have this theme on the https version?

Hi and thanks for your answer.

My pages do show with a green padlock and “https” on them, that’s not the problem. (also get an A score on sites like ssllabs)

The problem is that the front page keeps being frozen and showing outdated content that doesn’t reflect what I edit and see from my WP panel. I seriously have no idea what to do anymore. Been fighting with this for countless hours at this point. Please help!

New update: Apparently, people (including me) can see a much more recent version of the website from mobile devices. I can see content from my phone that was uploaded not more than one hour ago.

The problem still persists though when viewing the website from desktop. It is still stuck on outdated content.

Hello? Please help…

Hi,

Please provide a link to your website so we can inspect it. There might be caching installed that could cause this issue. Please try and clear all caching, also check with the hosting provider if there is any server side cache.

Thanks

Website is https://www.cripto-italia.com

This is what my homepage was supposed to be: https://www.cripto-italia.com/home1

I put “/home1” in the permalink cause if I don’t put a number at the end of it, that page also gets stuck and doesnt get updated on the live version of the website anymore…for some reason.

Already tried everything: purging cache, cache plugins, database cleaning plugins…everything.

Also spoke with my host provider support and they said everything looks good on their part.

Thank you

Update:

Pages (including front page) seem to load now, but only refresh once a day or something like that on the live website. What could be causing this?

Replied in your other topic. The email address is contact@tagdiv.com I forgot to mention it there (edited the reply there as well).
