Search is Missing

Since updating the theme, I seem to be missing the search icon/box. We don’t use the default menu placement in the theme as we use an “off-canvas” slide-out style menu. So I had the menu hidden with “.td-header-style-7 #td-header-menu { display: none; }”. Now it seems that the Search icon is apart of the Main menu or the Top menu. I went into the theme and set the setting to be in the Top menu but I never saw anything. So then I removed the “display: none;” from the CSS child theme to make it show up, and changed the search setting in the theme panel to the main menu, except it doesn’t show up. Not sure what I did or if some settings changed, but I can’t for the life of me get the menu to show up or the search icon. So, I come here looking for some guidance.

Hello beermoney,

Try to disable all of your untested plugins, clear all the caches and use only the plugins which come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. These can interact with your theme’s code and affect the Search Button. After this, if the problem is still there, please provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it.

Thanks for the message!

Oops. I forgot to mention that I have already cleared the sites cache, my browsers cache and tried other browsers. I had already disabled plugins and still wasn’t able to get it to show up. You can take a look and see if you see anything. I’m stumped.

Hello beermoney,

I have inspected your website and I saw that you have some js errors on your console. All of these could come from your untested plugins. These could interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues. Try to disable all of these, clear all the caches and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!
