Hello everyone,
I installed the new theme yesterday however I have a problem with my web host since the installation.
There were more than 436 queries recorded over a period of 5 minutes to Facebook.
I specify that I use the Facebook API for Counter tagdiv. I also have an autopost plugin for Facebook and Twitter however it has never been a problem until the installation of the theme. It does not work anymore since installation (other problem).
Could you help me to tell me what is causing these massive queries?
Thank you in advance,
A +
Hi,
I have disable all the plugins one by one and the outgoing connections have stop when I have disable the plugin:
tagDiv Social Counter
It’s the official plugin and supported by your theme.
I want to use this plugin but I don’t want many outgoing connections, so can you help me ?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
The plugin does make queries but this should not have an impact on performance if that is the issue. The social plugin is tested and created specially for theme, it’s functionality should not cause any issues. The plugin will try to synchronize the data every three hours.
Thanks
Hi,
So for you it’s a coincidence that the outgoing connections have decreased after deactivating this plugin?
Hi,
I could’t say, there have been no complaints concerning the social counter plugin. It’s purpose is simple, display the intended counter. Once every three hours it will try to synchronized the information

Maybe there were many visitor on the website which used the counter like/follow in a short period of time. Try to monitor the situation and see if it repeats.
Thanks
Hello, i have the exactly same problem with OVH : 300 requests per 5 min but the maximum they allow is 250. They stopped mailing me with connections alerts when i disabled the TagDiv Social Counter.
But it’s an official plugin… Isn’t there anything you can do ?!
If i reactivate it they will close my website.

anything that makes ‘outbound’ connections has to actually “go out” and get data and bring it back; this includes anything connecting to twitter to auto populate tweets inline vs in iframe, and the ‘number of likes/shares’ elements for social media.
With shared hosting, these elements can eat up a lot of bandwidth, since a script on the host has to actually GO OUT to those sites, then populate the data on your site pages.
Hello, thank you but ovh tells me this is only because of facebook, so i disabled the “like” button on my posts and let enable the share buttons + social counter on the sidebar. And i’ll see what they say.
But for a paying theme this is not normal for us to have this problem.
Hello,
Here is my return:
By disabling the OFFICIAL Instagram plugin of the theme the outgoing connections are dropping a lot.
The JetPack plugin OFFICIEL which is also a plugin announced as COMPATIBLE by TagDiv, generate hugely outgoing connections when I reactivated it.
Could you help me since these are two plugins advertised as working with your theme?
Hi there!
Just wanted to say that I have the same problem here – more than 250 outgoing connections per 5 minutes, also with host OVH. I disabled the bottom Instagram thing (showing the Instagram Pics before the footer) and it was fine again.
Not a big problem, but it would be nice if you could fix this in the future 🙂
Hi,
The Jetpack plugin is compatible with the theme, so there is no problem in that regard. The plugin will do what it is supposed to do. I don’t know how we could limit the plugin functionality through the theme in regard of the outgoing connections. Keep it deactivated if it causes problems with the hosting plan.
Instagram will refresh in order to display new content. Disable this as well, or try to display fewer images if possible.
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for your answer.
Less image than 4? It is complicated…
Are you going to investigate this? Will I have a return?
Because disabling plugins that should be functional is not a solution.
THanks in advance
I don’t know what exactly we should investigate regarding the Instagram functionality. As I mentioned before when configured and activated this section will continuously synchronize with the Instagram account and refresh the images displayed. It is supposed to be connected.
The Jetpack plugin will also do what it is supposed to do, nothing can be done from the theme side in the matter. Theme does not control plugins.
Thanks
