Categories vanish from my menu

I really love this theme and your brilliant support.

The site is about.ebooks.com, running Newspaper version 7.4.

In recent days I found that the main menu will only display links to pages and custom links, but it won’t list categories. This also applies to the top menu.

Actually, the menus display perfectly when I’m logged in as an admin user. But for people viewing the site normally, the category menu item just won’t show. This is true on desktop and mobile.

I have deleted menus and re-created them. I’ve also increased the memory allocation (per the little orange warnings on your Newspaper System Status page) to no avail.

Is there a known solution to this?

Hello sjcole,

Please provide screenshots with the problem because I cannot recreate it. Also, I saw that you are not using the latest version of the theme. Our recommendation is to update the theme to the latest version of it via FTP way because this is the surest theme method.

Hi Catalin,

Thanks for that. I’ve updated to the latest version of Newspaper, V 8.5.1. That was straightforward. However I still face the same issue.

By what method should I provide screen shots? Forgive me, but I cant see a way to do that on this forum interface.
