Now your template is 1068px, but we want to extend page content width to 1200px.
Except to modify .tdc-row {width: 1200px} is there more steps to do this?

That will not be a problem. After the latest theme update using the tagDiv composer on pages will allow this. Rows can be stretched to multiple widths, like this

This new functionality in v.8.5 is very nice, but we develop our site on template version 8.0, and because we modified many things (in the code, style.css, etc.) we cannot migrate to v.8.5 easily.
In our case, when we stretched the site to 1200px we observed, that some of thumbnails and other elements does not visualised right. Except in style.css, is there a need to modify some other file in template?

You should consider updating the theme, to fully benefit of these features properly. The latest version also includes many more elements, please see the changelog

There were multiple layout and design options added for rows, also multi-purpose plugin was introduced which brings a wealth of functionality and possibilities

The theme should be customized through a child theme if possible, so the them could be updated and not loose customization
