header BG img changes to opacity + adds a space below when I add a BG img 2 site

Hello I am using theme 8.5 with no patch as of yet, I have come to find that the header style background image changes when I add a bg image to the website. It makes it opacity and then ads pixel space below the header in between the main menu. It is happening on any theme header when I add a background image to entire site. Hi,

I have inspected thew website, at the moment there is a background set on the website but the extra header space is not present

There is no problem with the header from what I can see.
