Speed of the gallery

Hi,

one question…the speed of the gallery is not always good.

e.g. If I have 20 pictures in my gallery, each with a size of 70 kb = 1,4 MB. Is it possible to speed things up, without to lose the great SEO-Effect and the indexation?

My idea is to load the big size image only on click in the lightbox. But in the source code it’s always there because of google. Is this possible?

Thanks!

Hi,

The tagdiv gallery was designed to be more user friendly and so to speed things up the images are loaded on page when accessed.
We will investigate and if we can we will improve the gallery loader.

Thanks

Are there any new information to speed up the gallery when there are a lot of images? 🙂

Hi,

Unfortunately we are still investigating this, until we can find a better implementation for this you can try to search for a solution online.
Sorry about this!

Thanks

A “lazy loading” function for images might help; to “lazy load” the images until you scroll down on page to view gallery, meaning it loads some of the images, then loads the rest as one scrolls. A plugin might do that for you in the interim.

I kind of miss the days of LOWSRC b/w images we’d load prior to progressive back in the day.
