Hi, I am facing problem with category filter in Block element in tagDiv composer.
I am using 2 blocks Block-1 and Block-2.

In Block-1 Element-
I set Category filter: a certain category and in “Ajax dropdown – filter type:” I set Filter by Category”.

In Block-2 Element-
I set Category filter: a different category and in “Ajax dropdown – filter type:” I set Filter by Category”.

The problem is both are showing same subcategories under those selected category.

Please suggest what might be wrong.
Here is the temp location of my site:

See the issue in screenshots in a pdf file:

Note: I have changed theme folder name to “hawker” will that cause any issue?

Hi,

The category you choose in the filter tab will filter the posts, the block will display posts from that category.
If you only enable the ajax filter for both blocks it will display the same categories. This is independent of the block filtering. You must enter specific category IDs in the ajax dropdown if you want particular categories to show

Changing the theme name should not create any issues, we have not tried it or made any tests though, for the moment.

Thanks

Thank for your reply. I have understood now. But this is a little confusing.
It should work this way – When i am selecting a Category from Filter tab by default Category name should display at first (which is displaying now right) and all subcategory under this Block should appear automatically. this is more sensible and logical.

Please let me know if my logic is wrong.

Thanks,
Raihan

Hi,

Selecting a category in the filter tab here
https://www.screencast.com/t/JHQT6dQsz
Will affect only the posts that appear in the block initially. It will not do anything else. The ajax filter offers an option to place categories (similar to a menu) on top of the block. This will allow users to filter the block if they want to. In the ajax filter you could display for example sub-categories of the main category chosen as the filter, to sort the posts (by adding IDs manually for better control).
That would be the functionality in the matter.

Thanks

Hello,
Thanks for explaining the feature. I think this way I can control the subcategories more flexible way.
Thanks Simion.
