We recently updated our site to https, however the when the older posts appear in Related articles the old url appears before the page rule enforcing https comes into effect. Is there a way of forcing the related articles links to be refreshed? If I select one of these articles, I see that its permalink is in fact https, even though when it appears as a related article it isnt.
I have tried disabling Related articles in the theme, flushing the cache, and reactivating but that has not resolved the issue. Any advice would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option for this, sorry! If you will switch the site to https notice that the entire website should have to have SSL. Sorry, but I cannot recreate your issue. You should check the SSL configuration if done correctly.

a) make sure you add https explicitly in the wp-config.php file for site
b) disable the related posts option
c) optimize dbase with wp-optimize
d) backup your site fully from phpmyadmin
e) do search/replace in the mysql dbase for all instances of your site http url to https (may need to ask tagdiv for the tables used or custom field(s) for related articles if still there in addition to updating the post meta)
Doing all the above should work.
