Background advert not working correctly

Hello Tag Div,

I purchased the Newspaper theme for our website https://dogsmonthly.co.uk/ and we are having trouble setting up responsive back ground ads. I uploaded the adverts (1920×1080) but when viewing the adverts on my browser it cuts off a lot of content.

We require the background ad to be fully visible when viewed online but the background seems to just cut off have the content, even when my browser is full size on my computer.

I have attached a screen shot showcasing this issue and the settings I used. This is crucial for us and I would like to know if I am doing something wrong.

I would also like to add… is it possible to do a takeover like the one in the wordpress theme below:

https://jannah.tielabs.com/demo/advertisements/

They have sides connected at the top so even if you can’t click the sides, you can see the advert above the page.

Hi,

You should take into account the theme width when setting a background like that. The theme width with a background set in the theme panel, is 1164px. The website will always have that width and be centered. The background is displayed in the remaining margins.

Creating that space would be possible with a code like this entered in Theme panel->Custom CSS
https://www.screencast.com/t/IRj2xisaVez0

.td-theme-wrap {
margin-top: 290px;
}

It may also be modified to target specific pages only if needed, like the home page for example.

Thanks

This function makes the background ad look great, thank you! How can I limit it to the home page only (or just 2 or 3 pages), please?

Thanks!

Hi sgaialand,

You can do that only using custom javascript
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/dcydpxigh4
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/0XafjdjUx8qb
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/HXMlKld5
(function(){
if(!(document.body.classList.contains('home'))){
var element = document.getElementById("myDIV");
document.querySelector('body').classList.remove("td-boxed-layout");
}
})()

Hope this will help you!
Thank you!
