Ad Blocks on Smart Lists 1-5

When using the smart lists 1-5 (which have no specific ad block defined in the theme panel) is there a options-panel way to include an adblock? Ideally, it would be the exact same (if not the same) block as the ones used for regular article.

For example; We’d like the “Above Article” adblock to be displayed above smart lists 1-5 which don’t seem to possess any native advertising such as the other smart list styles.

We’d love to know if this is an easy option.

Hi,

Some smart lists have options to display an ad, the ones you mention. Others will not display any ads. Also when a smart list is used, the article ads (top, inline and bottom) will be removed. That would be the current functionality.
To display ads in the smart list styles that do not support them by default, would require code modifications to the smart list files

Or maybe with a plugin that could insert ads, I could not make any recommendations however in the matter.

Thanks

Those were the ones I was wondering about. It’s no problem to customize—it just seemed like I might be missing something!

One tangentially-related question, while I’ve got you here (still playing with the smart lists):

Let’s say I have a body of content with a section of subheadings in the middle intended to be used for a smart list, but after the sections there is also more content.

It seems that all content prior to sections parsed as a smart list remains intact (introductory paragraphs, for example) while all the content after the smart lists get omitted (summary/conclusion, for example). Is this the standard behavior or is there an option to retain the content after smart lists?

Best regards,

Ignore the gist of the last message—just found the [end_smart_list] shortcode.
