I”m just getting started with the NewsMag theme. I want to change the category of posts that show up in the top of the defaul demo. Where do I do that? The tagDV editor doesn’t seem to give me any options for modifying that section. Is there a video or tutorial that I can reference to learn to use this? Also, on some of the demo…the articles that are listed in the top section have a little title on them that says the category…how do I get those to show on the default demo? Thanks,

Unfortunately, I do not exactly understand what categories do you are referring to? You should provide a useful screenshot of the problem so I can identify it. I’m running into exactly the same problem. I think part of the issue is that there is no in between import. It is ether the full demo or without your content. We would like access to the home pages that you built, but using the categories that we have, and in my case, already exist. When we do the full content import, we have a large amount of irrelevent content to hunt down and remove, and I for one, can’t figure out how to replace the categories that are your demo content with ours and have the pages behave in the way they do for the demo.

Please notice that the role of the demo is for creating very easy your website, using our design. You can choose to import it without and with content and if you choose to import the demo with content you will bring a lot of dummy data which is available only for presentation. Notice that all of your posts and pages created by yourself will be loaded into your database and if you will import the demo without content, all of these will be there. The style of the demo is exactly the same as the demo will be imported to your backend.

I want to use your design, but with my content and catagories. that means with the custom home page and menu designs that you include with the demos. Those don’t get included, unless I include the demo data, which has a great deal more then I need, including users, content, etc.
I’m having a very hard time rebuilding to what you have, without doing the full demo data import, but when I do so, it is very hard for me to get rid of the excess demo material and to swap in my catogories in place of the ones that are already there so they are what appear in the home page menus and sections.

If you want to use our design demo you should import the demo without content and use your own created content. Also, another alternative for you would be to create another sub-domain for testing where you should install the demo with content to make it easier for you to build your site.

I feel like I’m not explaining myself well enough, so I’ll try this one more time and see if you have any way of assisting in this.
You have created a set of excellent home pages and post page implementations within your demos. We would like to use those, but with the categories and content that already exist within our sites.
We can either 1) import without the demo content, which also comes without the home and post pages that you’ve set up, which we are honestly having a hard time recreating to anywhere near as good.
or 2) import with all of of the demo data, which includes all of your categories, and a huge amount of additional posts, users, etc. that are difficult to remove, and we are having a hard time figuring out how and where to swap in our categories for the demo categories so it functions in the same way.
Also, when we try and import into our staging area, we run into a TagDiv importer detected an error. I’ve gone through all the troubleshooting steps. The only thing I can think if is that it will not let me install full demos a staging site.

Sorry but please notice that our theme only has these twice options. Our demos have been created to provide a broader overview of the site. If you will choose to import the demo with content, after this you will have to remove all of the dummy content from the panel, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/S5h6BCT9Wu0 It’s not a complicated task.
