Remove Images from Mega Menu

How do I just get a simple mega menu like in the Newspaper default preview under “homepages” mega menu? It’s defaulting to the images sub menu and I’m not sure I want that.

Thanks!

Hello,

If you do not want a mega menu, simply create a menu structure with sub-menus as mentioned here: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-navigation-menu-in-wordpress-beginners-guide/

Thank you!

Hi there

I have the same question as Adamhen86. I want a main menu that dynamically updates with post headings but that doesn’t show any images. The link provided by Bogdan B details how to create a normal wp menu which will not dynamically update as posts are added.

So the question is how can I remove the images (completely) from the main menu? I am using the td-header-demo-menu within Newsmag.

Thanks.

Hi,

@ITSAIBA1990
The module that is used in the mega-menu is this one
https://www.screencast.com/t/fRxuA4j3OjZ
The module will show a thumbnail, there would be no theme setting to disable it.

You could hide the thumbnail if you want only the post title to show there, but then the mega-menu would look like this

Or maybe change the module the mega-menu uses but that will require modifications in the theme files.
A setting to modify the mega-menu like that does not exist at the moment in the theme.

Thanks

Thanks, Simion C. Probably should have specified that I am using the Newsmag theme which doesn’t have the same options in Theme panel.

If I remove the 180×135 Block Thumbs for mega menu here: https://lisajoosthuizen.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Untitled-6.png

I see this: https://lisajoosthuizen.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Untitled-5.png

Hi,

I was suggesting with CSS, hide the images and maybe also reduce the height of the menu
https://www.screencast.com/t/uxOXmWQ0QuQ

.td_mod_mega_menu .td-module-thumb {
display: none;
}
.td-mega-menu .td-mega-row {
height: 114px;
}

No option in the theme panel would allow a similar result. This code would be the easiest way top do something like this.

Fantastic, thank you, the custom css worked!
