How can I make it so that this image fully fits in the box there are multiple photos that fit or resize to the box.

Each module has a predefined thumbnail size, this cannot be changed. The thumbnails that the theme creates are cropped center top, that is considered the best overall method in the matter

The resulting thumbnails are also affected by image aspect ratio

So the same image can produce different results depending on the module used to display it. You could use other modules/blocks which features a taller thumbnail, check the results with that.
