Note problem with brackets display in the paragraph pasted below from the post linked above (first character and opening bracket appearing twice, character or two after closing bracket not appearing at all). These problems are not present on the back end, are not showing up in other posts, and they only start appearing halfway through this post.

Now this is an unusual issue, those brackets seem to be part of the actual post content, as if they were actually placed in the post

So you checked in the backend (text tab) and those brackets are not present. Maybe a plugin is inserting them there for some reason, you could try as a test to deactivate them all, except theme plugins. Check if this has any effect.
