I’m hoping the pic shows as it explains my issue better than I could describe. I’m having two drop down menus on my desktop. I’ve been searching around but cannot find why it would do this. Please advise.

That happens when the mega-menu with sub-categories is not created properly

Basically the item you choose to be a mega-menu should not have sub-menus

If it has sub-menus these will be displayed under the mega-menu, as it happened for you.
