After updating to latest 8.7 of newspaper theme my website (front end) is blank – shows just a white screen. I deleted 8.1 to do update and now have have to return to it, does anyone know what is causing it and how to fix it? I have the same theme on another website that has updated just fine and is on the same host.

That did not solve the problem and I am still getting a black page in Firefox and
HTTP 500 error in IE.
Could be that there is insufficient WordPress memory

In quite a few cases increasing the WP memory to the recommended value or higher if possible it fixed the 500 errors. Let us know.
