I don't want the archives ("Latest Articles") or sidebar to appear on homepage

I am building a book blog with Newspaper/Art Creek and I am using an element to display all 60 posts/chapters in the book. But the home page has an area beneath the other elements which displays the archives and default sidebar. I need these to go away, but can’t figure out a way to do it. Help!
