Social media buttons conform to GDPR law

We are using Newspaper incl. social media buttons. The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO) requires that: – the including of social media buttons needs a 2-click confirmation by the user This is since the social media plugins already transfer user data to a third party (e.g. Facebook) although the user does not even click on those. The requested solution is that the user is asked if he agrees to include social media plugin buttons. Only after this agreement-click social media buttons are included – otherwise not.
Is this already possible?
If not, when could you make Newspaper conform to the European law?

Hello it_autoform_com,

Yes, we plan to add an option in the theme panel allowing you to completely remove google fonts and just use local fonts just as the new law suggests.
Our theme will be compliant with the new regulations imposed by the GDPR. Our developers working hard on this project which will be released in near future updates.

Thanks.

Nice, I came here for this answer, cause I’ve got the same question. I spend the whole day to fix this issue with the google fonts. The problem is your theme load them in at least 3 php files.

Also I noticed, you can choose default as every font, … but you cannot really define the default font – so it’s kind of senseless, … or maybe I just not saw it 😀

Anyway, I still love your theme since all the years, I hope you can manage to make thill changes in time, cause at the beginning of next month the page should be compatible to the law, otherwiese I’ve to set up with a nother theme which would suck 😀
