Static term on permalink not resolving correctly.

I’ve been trying to isolate the cause for this problem and would like to rule out if there is some functionality within the theme that is causing this.

My permalink structure is currently: http://new.ellatinoonline.com/%year%/%monthcode%/%day%/%postname%/
And I need it to be: http://new.ellatinoonline.com/news/%year%/%monthcode%/%day%/%postname%/

When I add the static term /news/ every single post url will resolve to the same article. Even when http://new.ellatinoonline.com/news/ seems to be available because it will cause a 404.

I’ve tried rewriting and deleting the .htaccess and this hasn’t worked. Hosting support suggested I use bas category but that only works for tags and categories pages as far as I can see…

Please let me know if you have some suggestions to fix this, thanks.

Hi,

You could search online for users who tried similar modifications. I found some topics
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-custom-permalinks-in-wordpress/
https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/140886/add-specific-word-to-default-page-permalink

Maybe there are also plugins that you could try as well.
