Hello,
How can I remove the STAY CONNECTED, WIDGETS, GADGETS areas at Newspaper theme from the DEMO theme I installed, and I am building on top of that.

Hi,
Widgets can be removed in Appearance->Widgets. That is where you can edit widget sidebars and the ones that appear in the footer sections.
If you are having problems with some widgets, we will help you. Mentioning where are these placed or a screenshot of them will be helpful as well.
