GDPR Comments OPT-IN After the update 4.9.6

Hello,
I have updated on WordPress 4.9.6, in the comments must appear an OPT-IN see picture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oij8iqgxlls1s95/InkedScreenshot%20%28226%29_LI.jpg?dl=0 .This does not appear with your theme!

I’m missing that too. And it’s absolutely necessary.

A theme update is planned in the matter of GDPR, it should be available soon. Please have a little more patience.

The update is currently in final stages. It will be released before the deadline, the team is working fast to provide this update as soon as possible.

I am using Disqus so it’s not an issue for me.

Edward, can you confirm whether the Newspaper theme will include cookie consent popup option?

Most of the themes are already updated to included that option.

You surely know that the deadline is the 25th.
I implemented a plugin to test before upgrading with the coming theme-update and all the ads disappeared… So It would be great if we could the upgrade BEFORE the 25th.
Perseverance and keep forward !

After the theme update will I still need a seperate GDPR plugin to control GDPR for my website? What plugin is recommended?

This GDPR law is a disaster!

Do I need to do anything, eg. active anything, to enable the new opt-in option for comments and policy confirmation in the modal sign-up? Neither shows up for me at the moment. I have updated to 8.7.5 and 4.9.6 respectively. I have also chosen a policy page in the WordPress settings.

I just wanted to comment to say that I fixed it. The missing comment prompt was due to caching and the missing modal opt-in was due to the fact that I had chosen a privacy policy page that had not been published yet. I hope that helps others with the same issues.

It appeared after I cleared my WordPress, browser and CDN cache.

@simion: This “wp-gdpr-compliance” Plugin is exactly what we need in Germany. Perhaps you can code this in the a future version of the theme, so we germans do not have to use this plugin.

If you use a WordPress plugin for caching, you might need to clear the cache after updating to 8.7.5 for it to show up.

Thank you! I’ve deleted the one from WP Rocket, but only the last hour on Chrome. Now should it fit, right?
