Articles not showing up on Google

Hi Guys,

I have (at the beginning of the month) submitted my all my .xml sitemaps to google index, signed up to analytics, search console, tag manager, google news, and google plus, and while all my pages are showing up on google none of my articles seem to be searchable on google.com.

Here is what i am hoping to achieve:
1. Be able to copy a sentence or paragraph on any of our articles and paste it into google search, and hopefully it will display on the search results. Currently this is not happening.

I have Yoast SEO installed, and have optimized settings on back-end.

Here is an example:

Is a real estate article written by a contributor, when i google the article name it does not show up google.

2. Quick question is there any issues with the page builder and shortcodes and how google sees this page, (pre/post render)?

You need to work in your SEO offpage to made relevant your articles, this is not a easy work and there is not a easy way to do that.

Thanks for your prompt reply, however, that doesn’t explain why my articles are not getting indexed, all the search result on that google search are pages,author bios (and oddly enough advertisers).

I submitted the following xml sitemaps:

http://mycalgary.com/taxonomy_category.xml
http://mycalgary.com/author.xml

However the posts and categories are not showing whatsoever on google. Any ideas why?
I can understand them not ranking, but they should still be visible, no?

Quick question is there any issues with the page builder and shortcodes and how google sees this page, (pre/post render)?

I have Yoast installed, but do i NEED to input the title and meta description as well? does the plugin not just pull the info from the excerpt and page title?
