I have having an issues sharing links to Facebook, my featured images are pulling in as blank. Ironically though, this isn’t happening to all links just some.
Here is one it happens to:
http://sportsmockery.com/2014/10/chicago-bears-becoming-critical-mel-tucker/
The Facebook debugger indicates:
“og:image was not defined, could not be downloaded or was not big enough. Please define a chosen image using the og:image metatag, and use an image that’s at least 200x200px and is accessible from Facebook. Image ‘http://sportsmockery.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/nhl_blackhawks_23.jpg’ will be used instead.”
I deleted lines 17-26 in header.php as indicated in another thread, I also try disabling the SEO plugin all together, neither worked. Even if I un-check “add open graph data” in the plug-in it still doesn’t work.
Can somebody please assist? It seems to have just started about 2 days ago, kind of lost on a resolution..?
Thanks in advance.
Chris
Nothing to do with you … it’s Facebook….
I’ve had the same issue where an image pops in then disappears, then they use that image on right side of page for an ad box saying “would you like to promote your post here” … come back an hour later big empty white box for the post on FB. No issue with debugger either. Next day post something, no problem at all. Next day, empty box, try to promote post and they say “disallowed too much text in image” even though nobody can see the image. So, don’t stress over it. FB is cocked up on images in general.
Tell me if you can see photo here, for example? 500×375 image,

IN above instance proper og tags are in place, including extended tags for image format, dimensions, and alt https link for image. (!)
It’s not you … 🙂
I’m sure you’ve already done so, but always good to ‘view source’ for your post page and look at all the meta data carefully to make sure it’s all properly structured and no “wrong thing in wrong slot” kind of stuff.
