Category can not be changed.
I will make a new article with the duplicated article, but the category becomes the category of the duplicated article.

So the path in the breadcrumbs should be starting from Home through the category and to the post. There is a setting to display or not the parent category of the post category

The primary category will change the breadcrumbs path, each post will have a primary category, either you set one or the first one alphabetically will be picked.
