We want to replace no-thumb watermark images (*.png) under the main theme folder wp-content/themes/Newspaper/images/no-thumb for which we added a child theme folder wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/images/no-thumb and placed all new thumbnail files. But new thumbnail files are not shown. How to get new thumbnails in our website.

You have to keep the file name and sizes intact for it to work properly.

We have created these images and have replaced them with file sizes and names intact, as per your instructions. However we are afraid in case there’s a theme update, it will overwrite all images. Is there no other way for putting these images in child theme.
What can be overwritten by the child theme:
I don’t think it’s possible to do this with a child theme, it doesn’t work for me anyhow.
