Ajax categories dropdown

Hi,

This might be a dumb question, but this is the first time I’m building a website and I’m still in the process of trying to understand everything, so I’m just going to ask:

I have a question regarding the use of ajax. I saw one or the staffmembers post the following picture:

https://www.screencast.com/t/x44umIK9

But when I select [Filter by categories], I get a small button (dropdown menu) in the top right corner of the element.

I would like to not get a dropdown menu, but a horizontal row as is shown in the picture, so visitors can filter the news they want to read. Can you explain me if this is possible and if so, how I can do this?

I am using block 7, but also when I add block 1 I get the same result.

Thank you in advance!

Hello Lewesch,

Please notice that button appears because you have a lot of Categories. Notice that your category filter is set up to filter All Categories. So, if you will change this option to another category you will see that button will disappear. -> https://www.screencast.com/t/WLyMEEQ5

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Thank you for your reaction. I changed the option to another category, but still the button was there:

https://ibb.co/ifyEK8

When I hover over the button, it gives me five options, including ‘All’.

I want the element to show all the news, but give visitors the option to filter the news down to certain categories. I want these categories to appear in a horizontal row, next to the button ‘News'(as was shown in the picture I posted in the original post). Not hidden under a button in the top right corner.

Thank you for you help once again!

Hi,

Sorry, but please notice that should be the default theme behavior for that functionality, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/mQVeJBc2bTgl If you will choose to Filter your Ajax Categories Dropdown by a Categories, notice that will be displayed some categories and then if you will press the ALL you will see the other ones. Provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it. Ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and remove all of the untested plugins if you are using something like this.

Thanks.

Hi Catalin,

Once again thank you for you answer. The website is: https://www.gamebruh.com. When you scroll down on the homepage, you wil see the newsblock. And here is a picture of how the element>filter settings look in TD Composer atm: https://ibb.co/nFDaE8

I’ve updated everything to the latest version. I am happy to provide additional information or screenshots if needed!

Thanks again!
