Custom Fonts issues

There are 2 issues.

1. The custom fonts I uploaded to my site (https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/) are available via drop-down and I can select them, but the theme panel does not save my font settings and it jumps back to “default font” after refreshing the page.

2. Due to legal reasons, websites in our country are not allowed to connect to google fonts anymore (because of data they could collect). Although I disabled it via Newspaper dashboard, my website still connects to fonts.gstatic.com and fonts.googleapis.com (according to chrome console)

I’m using the latest version of WordPress and Newspaper. Thanks in Advance for any help!

Hi,

1. Are there other problems with saving settings or only with the fonts? Open the browser inspector console and then make the settings again and save. Any potential errors will be displayed there

2. That should not happen. I tested this again

Note that other elements such as plugins also can load fonts or maybe custom code used, not only the theme. Make tests to identify what is loading those fonts.

thanks

Hi Simion,

Thanks for your quick reply!

About 1. Chrome console is not giving any error in Backend. But on the frontend, I get the following warning: “Failed to decode downloaded font: <URL>”. Could this cause the dashboard not to save?

About 2. This is probably caused by the revolution slider. I will check this in detail.

Solved.
1. I uploaded the custom fonts via media upload, this caused the error. Now, I added a custom folder, uploaded the font file via ftp and linked to the path.

2. Caused by Revolution Slider. Will check with them.
