In previous versions this did not happen. When putting images of different proportions, the system adapted the images to the width, cutting a little above and a little below. I do not know if I explain.
It turns out that now, the system adapts the image using the height, leaving a blank space to the right.
I guess this will have a goal and that there will be a solution.

You should try to regenerate your thumbnails using the Force Regenerate Plugin and Thumbnail Regenerate. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ Clear all the caches and check the results.
