Featured images details

Dear Support,

I’m building my first blog with Newspaper 8.
I’m having some troubles about the featured images dimensions. In the manual it’s clearly explained that images are cropped with a center top logic, but sometimes i’m not happy about the result. There’s a fast way to detect the actual size of the image displayed in the frontend in relation to the layout that i chose, so that i can resize the image to show exactly as i want?

Then… do you suggest to work on a child version of Newspaper?

Thanks!
Daniele

Hello,

No, we do not recommend using a child theme unless you plan on code modifications in the php file. that is the one and only scenario a child theme should be used for. You do not need it otherwise.
As for the images, please note that each block uses a different thumbnail to show the images. You can check the different thumb sizes used in our theme here: https://www.screencast.com/t/zH5FMYs9

Thank you!
