I recently purchased the newspaper theme and I was under the impression that Jetpack was a supported plugin however once installed I noticed that the Jetpack infinity load is not functioning. I looked at the Jetpack documentation and added the additional function as required and the infinity load options become available however I am still not able to get this to work on a single post.
The theme does not support infinite loading or auto-loading on single posts. Maybe in a future update, as mentioned by theme authors.
So I guess when the theme says
“With each theme release we provide a list of fully suported plugins. In order to make the plugins look and work better, the theme may add custom stylesheets and hook custom code to them. We manually inspect each plugin periodically. If we missed something, feel free to contact us!”
They don’t mean fully. Sigh.

The others you use outside this list are at your own risk (or volition) because they do not provide support.
Just comment, if you mean ‘infinite scroll’ – I thought that only worked for pages which use the default loop for showing more posts at bottom of a ‘page’ …
e.g.,

not on posts themselves.
For ‘pages’ such as an index, you can try this solution:
