Changing Tab title of Category pages

Hi

I was wondering if its possible to change the title that appears at the top of the tab on browser for a category.

For example, this category is named “FOOTBALL” and on the tab it shows “FOOTBALL ARCHIVES – SportingMatrix”

So i was wondering if its possible to change that text to what i wish, thanks! 🙂

Hi,

In order to do this you will need to install a Plugin ( Yoast SEO ), after installation, activate it, then go in SEO > Taxonomies and there you will find SEO title https://www.screencast.com/t/Av7bDCwp

This is easily changed if the Newspaper theme uses the_archive_title() but I checked the files and can’t find that/ I too want to alter that text without adding Yoast SEO… does the theme actually use the_archive_title()?

Hi,

Our theme don’t use the_archive_title(), and we recommend you to use a SEO, but if you still want to make changes in theme file, then you can check the archive.php and header.php ( https://www.screencast.com/t/LVWCM5jAbx ).
