Error on activating WPBakery

Hi! What should I fix if I got this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function filter_var() in .../wp-content/plugins/js_composer/include/classes/shortcodes/shortcodes.php on line 128

It happens when I activate WPBakery Visual Composer :((

And here is what is inside those file at line 128

if ( ! filter_var( $this->settings( 'icon' ), FILTER_VALIDATE_URL ) ) {

Make sure you use the version of VC which comes with the theme, and make sure you delete old version prior to uploading/installing the new version.

Thank You for answer. I’ve checked it twice during reactivation and reinstalling. And it was a new clear installation (not an upgrade) on clear WP. So obviously there wasn’t previous version and content at all. Any ideas else?

Well, since something is missing from the visual composer plugin folder; I’d likely try uploading manually via FTP, since if something isn’t “all there” (sometimes happens if trying to auto install the plugin via the theme or WordPress panel). I always do this myself since I always trace these kinds of gremlins to a missing or corrupt file from unzipping on the server. Betcha it will work … as there is not anything wrong with version of VC included with v4.5 of theme; unless the zip file or install goes awry.

Same error I got at other hosting ad clear WP and Newspaper Theme installation

Deactivation of the other plugins didn’t help also 🙁
