Strange Syntax

Well, I haven’t the theme 10 minutes and I already have an issue, lol. I swear I am not going to be the problem child. Whenever I buy a new theme I always test in on a different site on the same server. When I uploaded the them and activated it, I received this error-Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/jolynch/public_html/techgirl.today/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/modules/module_modifier/td_module_blog.php on line 784

You can see it live here:
http://techgirl.today/

The blog it needs to go on already has existing content and can’t be down at all. So I need to know how to fix this just in case it happens there because both blogs are on the same host server.

Thanks so much!
Bobbie

Might be due to uploading the wrong zip file — meaning, there is zip with just the theme, and there is zip with all the docs, psd file, etc. — using the ‘big’ file it won’t work. But I don’t think it gives that error.

Typically turning off all plugins when activating theme, but making sure you clear all caches, and CDN elements before activation makes the difference. I personally also usually do the ‘preview’ of a theme before activation, just to see if it’s borked or not.

Often uploading manually via FTP, is good option, too, to ensure the right files get up there and completed.

That might not help, just food for thought 🙂

Hi,

Thanks Christopher!

@BobbieSeacrist
Please make sure you install the theme right as this should not happen, please follow this guide and upload the theme files via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installation/
Please let me know if this is still happening!

Thanks
