Hi,
I’m having an issue whenever I try to create a new post, it gives me a blank page for no reason. It works for older posts. I’ve checked the permalink, plugins and database. Permalink is fine.
I found something with the Speedbooster plugin though, if I deactivate it, the post works, but my CSS is all messed up. So my page looks weird…
I tried changing the version, but it’s the same problem.
I then looked at my database and I’m getting a lot of overhead at 26MiB. I think that’s pretty bad. I’m waiting for my server manager to check that. My website host also updated some modules.
Can you help me figure out the issue?
Hi,
Please make sure you also remove cache and purge files if you use any cache and/or CDN plugins and also make sure you check for errors in your browser console. This could also be from the speedbooster plugin which can generate conflicts when used with other plugins and the css issue could come from the custom css added from theme panel.
Please try to deactivate the plugin or any other plugins that could generate this and empty cache and purge files.
Let me know if this helps!
Thanks
Hi Lucian,
I finally found the main issue after many experimentations.
It’s related to the new DISQUS comment plugin version, when coupled with the comments above featured articles. https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/move-comments-above-similar-articles/
I moved the comment section and it worked great for a while, but when I updated the Disqus plugin, I had blank pages on new posts and pages…
It’s weird because it works on older posts. The only way to make it work on the new posts/pages is to delete the comment section I set up in loop-single.php. I can however create a post, then add the new comment section in loop-single.php and it will work as it’s already posted (if that makes sense?).
It’s clearly a problem with Disqus because if I preview a post, it’s giving me the standard comment system, not Disqus. Though it gives me Disqus comment system in preview for older posts…
I might need to get an older version of Disqus now.
Do you know if we can change some codes to make it work with the comment section above featured images w/ the updated version of Disqus, as it brings better security feature, I’d like to keep it.
Hi,
Sorry for the delay, unfortunately I can’t give you an exact answer on that as we haven’t made and tests regarding this. The solution I have posted here for moving the comments is for newspaper/wordpress default comments system and I’m not sure how the Disqus plugin affects this after the last update. You could try to address this issue to plugin’s authors if you need this to work with the latest version of the plugin or you could hire a freelancer to take a look at this issue for you because this is custom work and unfortunately we cannot offer custom work at this moment as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.
Thanks for understanding and for your message!
