Instagram Not Working

Posted in: Newspaper

I have read through the various topics in the forum and haven’t found a solution to my issue. Even before I updated to 9.1 or 9.2, my Instagram feed at the bottom of my site stopped showing images. I currently have it configure to show 1 row of 4 images. Only one of the images is currently showing. How do I fix this issue?

You can see it at http://outerrimnews.com

Hi,

Seems to work on my end when I use your Instagram ID
http://prntscr.com/luxpur

Try as a quick test to enter a different ID, like cocacola, check if that works. Then switch back to your own. Also if you use caching, clear the cache.

In case there is still a problem, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login so we can investigate this. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thanks

tried multiple browsers, my phone, someone else’s phone, cleared cache, and changed it to the Instagram ID provided, and still missing images in all of those scenarios…

I can say that they show up in composer, but when saving and going live, they do not show up…

This is clearly an issue as even the demo site https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_black/ has broken Instagram links at the bottom. Is there a public fix for this yet?

Hi,

@awilbanks
I have tested multiple times on my end, with various IDs, for example
http://prntscr.com/lw1nlm
http://prntscr.com/lw1nrr
Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login so we can take a look. If possible before doing this, please make a quick test and deactivate all plugins except theme plugins then clear all caching. Let us know if you did this in the email.

@renrico
There were some issues with the live demos, now everything should be alright

Thanks

Not exactly comfortable with sending an admin/login over email. Since this is a problem that has appeared multiple times, including a fix you made on the live demo, can you not share what the fix is?

Deactivated all plugins (besides TagDiv plugins), cleared cache, even tried on yet another computer that has never been to my site, and still missing images…

It is a problem mentioned by some users, but we cannot recreate it on our end. All the IDs I have checked so far work at all times.

That is why we need to investigate in those specific cases, in order to identify if there is a problem in the matter. We haven’t made changes to our Instagram widgets in the latest updates so they should work same as before.

Has Instagram made any changes?

@awilbanks I searched the internet for a while, I did found some information
https://www.instagram.com/developer/
https://www.dialogfeed.com/best-tips-for-instagram-graph-api-change-in-december-2018/
https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2018/01/30/instagram-graph-api-updates/

But in all our tests it works same as before, as I mentioned above I tested multiple IDs. Send us an email with admin login (if you haven’t already) and we will check in your case.

It could be the Jetpack photon causing the issue, please disable it, clear the cache and check again. or disable the entire plugin and check.

Tagdiv support solved my issue. If it could help someone else’s situation, our fix was to turn off image optimization in Jetpack settings.
