I’ll try to explain what I’m trying to do clearly. I have a number of YouTube posts on my site. I want my users to click through from the home page to the post page to view the video. What I would like to do it have featured images that I create display on the home page and then have the featured video (but not the featured image) show on the post page. You can do this just by adding the URL of the video in the featured video field: http://screencast.com/t/ka4Ak3T5h1xf This way you will have your featured video thumb on your homepage and your video displayed first on your post page.

Thanks for the response. When I add the video URL to the featured video field, the video itself shows on the homepage. What I would prefer, is to have only the featured image show on the home page, and only the video to show on the post page. I have tried numerous different combinations of post templates, embedding the video, etc. to get this result, but with no luck. I’d be more than happy to create an admin login for you if that would help.

Please let me know if I haven’t understood well but if you want an different feature image of the post than the video thumb on homepage you need to set the post to gallery format then add the video URL into your post where you want the video to appear. This way you will have a thumb on your homepage of the image you set as featured image and on post page your will have just the video and the content you want as when set to gallery post format the feature image isn’t displayed on posts pages.
