but I can’t understand why I have:
1. tha black area all the way in the top with all the “categories” displayed. ok, I do have “subscription” widget on the top right area, but I do not have the “categories”. Why are they displayed?
2. as you can see the “categories are duplicated. they appear on the black top right area and they again appear right under the black area. why? I don’t need the categories displayed on the black area all the way at the top of the page.
3- I actually don’t need the black area at all. How can I get it empty?

1. The top black area which display’s the categories is the top menu which you can set it from here: http://screencast.com/t/ajxpZbJ7Amz

Please note that the top-right social area hasn’t been designed to work with that subscription widget you use, you can use the tagdiv login form widget there: http://screencast.com/t/byS56zrq45nc
2. This happens because you have set the menu which contains this categories to the top menu and the main menu also, you can change this from the appearance > menus panel like shown in the screenshot above.
3. You can hide the top menu from theme panel > header section or you could also set it from there or you could chose not to show a menu, like this: http://screencast.com/t/fpkmbVLn2SSg
You can also find this info in our documentation, you should take some time and go trough it as you will find more useful information about how to use the theme an it’s features.
