I recently began having problems with page freezing for my site
When I click on videos and now even article sites the page loads but freezes or wont scroll properly. Sometimes the page crashes as well. It seems to work fine on my mobile. I have tried all three browser and the only plugin I have added recently is FB like, which I disabled adn retested. I tried reverting back to twenty 14 theme and runs OK but without the layout and access to things.
Prior to this, all running good. Only changes to code is to raise up comments in posts and modified accroding to one of your troubleshooting posts but I am using disqus for comments but has been working fine.
Any help?
I was having freezing on one of our sites running Disqus, and was particularly bad in IE11/Win7-64. Could not figure out if it was Disqus or AddThis plugin; but between those two and the Google ads — something kept causing page to just lock- like permanent wait for something to load …. “the page … has stopped working ….” (!).
And this was NOT using the Newspaper theme btw — (Canvas).
Note that both Disqus and Addthis have put out a WHOLE BUNCH of updates the past month (dot revisions) due to various problems.
This might not be related to your issue, but it’s the only thing we’ve been able to find as it only impacts the sites using those plugins, and the other sites NOT using those (running Newspaper theme or Canvas) have zero such issues.
Very annoying. In our case we ruled out anything theme related, so you may want to keep an eye on those plugins as there *is* something funky going on, and it’s not just you !

Yeah, it turned out to be that I had moved comments up to before article and there is a conflict obviously with disqus. I reinstalled the original loop file and single-loop file (which I had modified)and all good. Turned on disqus and all good too i think. Hostgator had even gone as far as suspending my account due to the conflict.

I returned my single and single-loop files back to original and activated disqus again and working.

Yeah, we had run into that when using AddThis plugin to put the share buttons at both top AND bottom of the post, and Disqus seemed to conflict with that …. changed the AddThis to just one location, and got latest Disqus update. Seems to be okay.
